As we enjoy the beauty of June and the summer season, it's important to remember the safety measures when using essential oils. Citrus oils, such as Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Lemon, are popular during this time, but they contain natural molecules that react with sunlight and cause sensitivity to the skin. To avoid this, it's recommended to delay exposure to sunlight after topically applying citrus oils for at least 12 to 48 hours depending on the skin's sensitivity. However, you can still use these oils by applying them to skin covered by clothing or when not exposed to the sun within 24 hours.

Other single oils and blends may also have a sun/UV warning, so be sure to check the label directions for usage and safety guidelines. To ensure your safety, we advise referring to the individual product label before application.
