Our emotions and feelings can be hard to manage and keep balanced. We have so many things that can affect our emotions, from our diets and sugar intake to insufficient sleep and stressors from work or managing day-to-day activities of our households. It can really take a toll on our emotions and how we feel. Relationships, work, money, weather, health, life in general—it all affects us positively AND negatively when it comes to our emotions. And we all need emotional support in some way, shape, or form, which is where essential oils come into play.

Now you may be thinking, "No way is just smelling an oil going to make me happier.” But I am here to say, “Yes! Yes it is!” Now of course, like I said earlier, there are many factors that affect our emotions, and we need to look at our emotional health with a broad, broad lens. But for basics and in combination with other measures to support our best emotional health, essential oils are incredibly powerful when it comes to supporting and balancing our emotions.

But for basics and in combination with other measures to support our best emotional health, essential oils are incredibly powerful when it comes to supporting and balancing our emotions.

One of the greatest things about essential oils is that they have the ability to bypass the blood-brain barrier. This is important because that's where our emotional processing center is!  When inhaled, oils reach your brain in THREE SECONDS! That is just so incredible!

Out of our five senses, SMELL is the only one that has the ability to impact and benefit or even harm our limbic system, which is where our brain processes emotions. And as you probably know, our bodies are made up of trillions of cells. Our cells, just like our brain, have a memory. The nucleus (or memory) of the cell tells the cell what to do, and it's where DNA is produced.

According to Dr. Caroline Leaf, "Research shows that DNA actually changes shape according to our thoughts. As you think those negative thoughts about the future, the week ahead, what a person might say or do, even in the absence of a concrete stimulus—that toxic thinking will change your brain wiring in a negative direction and throw your mind and body into stress." So information has to go through the cell and into the nucleus so that it stays in communication and keeps working properly.

Our cells communicate to each other by receptor sites located on the outside of the cell. However, negative and fear-based emotions can damage the receptor sites of our cells. Just like chemical toxins, GMOs, smoking, and many beauty and personal care products block those receptor sites, so do our negative emotions. And when they can't get the information they need, that is how disease can take hold in the body. So how do essential oils fit into all of this? Well, let me tell you!

Essential oils are made up of naturally occurring chemical constituents called monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and phenols. Phenols clean and repair your receptor sites. Monoterpenes start to work on cells that have the WRONG information. Disease starts when DNA gets miswritten. One cell with damaged DNA produces another, and so on. Monoterpenes help to reprogram that misinformation. Sesquiterpenes bring oxygen to the brain and the body's cells. This helps our emotional processing center to work as it should. Disease cannot exist where oxygen thrives, so whereas monoterpenes reprogram the misinformation, sesquiterpenes erase the misinformation.

All three of these constituents work together to bring perfect emotional and physical balance and health to our body! Now that was a lot of background information...but guess which oils are in the Feelings Kit blwnsa...those high in phenols, monoterpenes, and sesquiterpenes! So let’s take a looks at the specific oils in the feelings kit.

Harmony

is a blend of 17 oils! It is designed to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being by bringing harmonic balance to the energy centers of the body. It’s uplifting, helps reduce stressful feelings, and helps influence positive attitudes as it elevates your mood.

Harmony is defined as "the combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce chords and chord progressions having a pleasing effect" and "to be in agreement or accord." Think about it as our body, that has many "musical instruments" that make very different melodies, but they all have to work together to make one beautiful song titled “our health and well-being.”

How to use? Diffuse it. Breathe it in from the bottle. Apply topically to the neck, wrists, feet, or behind ears. Make a body or pillow spray.

Forgiveness

contains a blend of soothing and uplifting essential oils that may enhance the ability to release hurtful memories and move beyond emotional barriers. The process of growth can only proceed when we have the ability to forgive and let go of negative emotions and negative memories.

"When you forgive, you in no way change the past, but you sure do change the future."

To use, put 1-2 drops on your heart or stomach to release hurtful and negative memories. Put 1-2 drops over your heart or diffuse to help you move beyond emotional barriers, help you forgive, and let go of negative emotions.

Inner Child

was designed to open the pathway to reconnecting with the inner self that may have been damaged or concealed through childhood misuse, abuse, and/or negative childhood experiences. When a child has been abused, they become disconnected with their natural identity or inner child. This causes confusion and undesirable personality traits. This blend may help stimulate memory response and help reconnect with the authentic self, which is one of the first steps towards finding emotional health and balance.

To use, in a 2 oz. glass spray bottle, combine 20 drops Inner Child and witch hazel to fill. Swirl well to mix, don't shake. Use as a cologne/perfume, pillow spray, or linen freshener around your home. Also diffuse, smell out of the bottle, or apply topically on your wrists, back of neck, and behind ears.

Present Time

is designed to help you focus on the here and now and help you get beyond the past and move forward.  Have you ever gotten so caught up in what happened or worrying about what will happen, that you totally miss what is HAPPENING? We've all been there. We all get busy, riding on auto pilot, not grasping hold of what we HAVE right in front of us, and letting tomorrow take care of itself.

Present Time is only made up of three oils. It is small, but it is mighty! To use, dab it behind your ears, on your wrists, on the back of your neck, or use as an aftershave or perfume. Use it with a carrier oil for a nice relaxing massage. Smell it as always. Try it in a bath. And diffuse it often!

Release

means to allow or enable to escape from confinement; set free. "Sometimes you don't realize the weight of something you've been carrying, until you feel the weight of its release." This is such a powerful oil blend, that when combined, creates a relaxing aroma that facilitates the ability to let go of anger and frustration and also promotes harmony and balance.

Although Release is primarily known for its emotional support, it is also great  for muscle tension, to release all the tightness and stress stored in those deep tissues. To use, try throwing a drop on your shower wall and let the oil mix with the steam for a releasing "spa" experience.  Diffuse at night for a restful sleep while all the day's negative energy lifts away. Use two drops in bath salt for a relaxing, calming de-stress soak. Use on wrists, behind ears, on back of neck, on feet, and inhale to release negative energy all day long.

Valor

is known as great courage and strength of mind and spirit that enables a person to face great challenges with bravery. It helps to calm the mind and body, clear negative energy, and promote a peaceful environment. It is known to reduce nervous tension and help stabilize emotions.

To use, smell it out of the bottle, rub in palms and breathe in, diffuse it, or put it on the back of your neck, your spine, behind your ears, and your wrists.

Feelings Kit Protocol

Gary Young said, “99% of life’s decisions are made from feelings.” We want to be in control of our decisions and have them be ones that will guide us to health, happiness, and abundance. To do so, we need to also be in control of our feelings!

If you didn't get overloaded with all the information above, you can listen to Gary talk about the Feelings Kit here (don't worry, it's only just over one minute long):

Gary said, “Use the Feelings Kit. Apply feeling oils before work and every night before bed. Do this for 30 days, and you will change your life. You will feel enthusiastic. Your life will be full of excitement. And people will be drawn to you like a magnet.

Pro tip: If you pop an AromaGlide roller fitment on the top of each of these, you can just roll them on where needed and complete this protocol in a minute flat. Only do this if you know your skin does not require dilution—safety first.

If you don't have the Feelings Kit yet, here's what you would save vs. buying it all individually. As you can see, you'd be throwing away money. Plus, if you're on YL's Loyalty Rewards program, you can earn up to $44 back in Loyalty Rewards points!
